Hi,

My name is Maren Kate and I’m not your run in the mill twenty something, I’m a bit strange (considering worldly ‘norms’) so if you like odd balls then I may be your woman.

I’ve been starting businesses since I was 19 and currently work full time as an entrepreneur, from coffee shops (I love the energy) or my home office. I love all things start up related and am a firm believer in starting a business that will change the rest of your life.

I have dedicated this blog to people who want to escape the 9 to 5 like I did. But it isn’t for everyone, so don’t be offended if it isn’t for you. Here are some common characteristics of people who may get a lot out of the documenting of my journey in escaping the 9 to 5 and becoming independently wealthy via entrepreneurship.

1. If you are weird, abnormal or off beat this is a blog may be for you.
2. If you have hundreds of good ideas in your head but don’t know how to execute them.
3. If you are absolutely, head over heels in love with entrepreneurship
4. If you hate your job and can’t wait to get the H, E, double hockey sticks out of there.
5. If you like your job but know that the only way you can truly reach your goals is by making a lot more money and having the freedom being your own boss with allot you.
6. If your idea of pleasure reading is Fast Company, Forbes or Entrepreneur magazine.
7. If you love blogging and want to develop a business out of it.
8. If you are insanely passionate about a specific thing (be it knitting, hockey or German shepards)
9. If you want to make money doing what you love.

My Un-Resume, Resume

1. I started an eBay business based off selling jewelry which did fantastically well (like $5,000 in a day well) and then crashed and burned because I was young, stupid and selfish.
2. I’m passionate about fiction writing (think Bradbury or Vonnegut) and work hard now so when I’m thirty I can “retire” to travel the world & write a book, or three.
3. I started a social media business when I knew nothing about SMO, spent months learning and grew it into something that boasts one of the biggest shows on Cable as clients.
4. I don’t know HTML and can’t code my way out of a box but have gotten contracts for websites for $10,000 plus.
5. My secret weapon is that I am an outsourcing wizard and have a full time staff of virtual assistants who are my businesses’ life blood.
6. I consult, my specialty is helping people take their businesses to the next level. I’ll turn your small business into a big business and equip you with the tools to grow it exponentially.
7. I now have a successful blog on starting internet businesses and absolutely adore the people who read it and who I get to interact with on a daily basis.
8. I’m in the midst of launching a website based around outsourcing and virtual assistants that I promised myself I will sell for millions – so wish me luck!
