Content is King:
In this course we’re going to take all the new fancy accounts you’ve set up and start putting out some content relevant to your niche. I am going to show you some tricks of the trade when it comes to getting more views on Youtube as well as the perfect way to chose keywords that re-enforce your brand online.
Copy writing 101:
Copy writing isn’t hard if you are doing a blog, because unlike more formal types of media it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Speak From The Heart
You can actually do well being imperfect. Check out Naomi Dunford’s blog www.IttyBiz.com besides an amazing blog for small business start ups it’s also incredibly unique. She is foul mouthed, vulgar and racy but because of her unique language the blog is more interesting and she really ‘brands’ herself. I wouldn’t suggest you brand your style of copy writing by never checking auto correct, I would suggest you just speak from the heart. Don’t censor yourself and talk how you’d normally talk to your friends and at your funniest. People like to be entertained when the read and if you can do that and inform you’ll be golden. A great way to get better at copywriting is to read great blogs, check out the staples like www.problogger.com and www.copyblogger.com then also check out blogs done by people within your niche (i.e. chefs, gardeners or business administrators).
Use Attractive titles/heading/subheadings
Email newsletters (list building):
Why is an email newsletter sooo important, well firstly, it just is. Secondly its your way of keeping in constant contact with your market, its your way of selling them on your new products and its a way to get feedback on your content. Trust me when I say this, it is imperative that you sign up with an email newsletter service (I use Aweber and write out at least one preferably 4 auto responders that will send great, free info to your readers whenever they sign up for it. For a real life example of this sign up for my email newsletter here and see what I mean about providing great content your readers can’t get on the blog (think of all the free content I give away here? imagine how good the content I make you sign up for is!).
- Come up with a reason people should sign up for your list. Like “I run a blog about being a new mom, so if people sign up for my blog I’m going to give them what?” well you could give them “7 easy recipes for yummy dinners for new moms who don’t want to cook much”, or “your ultimate source for baby items at 50% off!” or “my sure fire way to ace breastfeeding in 4 easy steps” (don’t laugh people would want that info).
- So set up your list like this: Ask the person to join, offer a prize and then promise not to spam them! Thats the recipe for success and don’t trust me, I got this info from some of the best bloggers. Examples from the pros:
- Set up an aWeber account (I truly think its the best & cheapest email newsletter provider)
