I cried, I argued, I tried to reason with myself… but in the end I knew I had to make Sophie’s choice – but not about my baby, but instead my business (even harder since my biz’s are my babies!). My productivity has been in a tailspin for the last month but in the last 5 days after my heart wrenching decision productivity has sky rocketed, profits have jumped and my biz is stronger and growing faster than ever. If you are feeling overwhelmed or going in too many directions please watch this video…

When you’ve made the choice what time vampires you must cut out to let the other projects survive feel free to email me marenkate(At)gmail(Dot)com and we can virtually cry together over your loss and then develop a kick butt plan to get you back in the saddle, better than ever!

    Hi Maren,
I recently came across your blog and I love your posts…especially this one. I have felt overwhelmed and spread too thin the past week and your advice was right on. It's hard to let go when you have so many things that interest you, but like you said once you did your productivity and profits skyrocketed!

Well said Maren! Very wise words!

Sounds great, Marin. It is definitely very easy to become over burdned and spread to thin. Personally I have the opposite problem, my spreads are still in the jar waiting for me to determine the right slice of bread to put them on. :)

So this is the first time that I have commented on your blog but I do follow you.
One thing I noticed right away – you can see the energy within you when you talk. I am glad you chose to do a video on this big change and your WISE choice to streamline…

Focusing on one thing until it gets done can be a huge benefit for a business in terms of actually accomplishing getting more done much faster and the importance of what that one project is offering in terms of value and money.

I agree here. I don't just say I agree to say it. I had a few ideas and have written down several things about some of those just so I have those out of my head and in the clear.

I'm now working on one and putting it out there to my audience here soon to find out what they think about the idea… If they like it I'll start working on it. It's just on paper for now but better than doing a whole bunch of projects at once and getting too overwhelmed.

Thanks for the insight Maren! :)

Love this Maren…I share the same sediment. Learning when to take on an opportunity, pass on an opportunity and when you're not doing an opportunity justice is an imperative lesson to learn.

Focusing on building something special should be the framework…if the “special” is falling off because you are spread too thin…then it might be time to cut the cord.
