This is the type of interview that every entrepreneur, whether new to the game or an old hand, should pay attention to. Ryan Allis has built a business that went from zero to 3.3 million a month and he’s learned a lot along the way. Ryan at 16 years of age decided he was going to reach the goal of making $1 million by the time he was 21, he met that goal and now his incredible focus has grown his start up into an internet email giant. Ryan talks about whether or not it’s wise to take on debt or venture capital when you’re starting up, how people can start a successful business at any age and the secrets behind growing a company from nothing to a multi million dollar success.

Breaking even, by re-investing any “profit” into the company never really crossed my mind before. I always put the money in first, and then take any income elsewhere. It makes a lot more sense to keep putting the profit back into the company, so while the company is not making/losing any money, it still is growing.

Awesome interview, you meet with the coolest people.

So if I did my math correctly, this guy is 26 years old? Did he say he was 11 in 1995? Very inspiring, as this is my age. Get me upset at myself, but at the same time motivated. Enjoyed it, thank you m'am

Yeah it does – it is definitely not the “easiest” thing to do but it will pay off in droves if done right.

Yep, I worked it out as 26 too!

Anyway, this is probably one of the most inspiring posts you've ran Maren.

I really love the quote 'if your business isn't making money whilst you sleep, then you don't have a business, you have a job'. I've requoted Ryan on my latest blog post.

    That's just awesome
