*KAPOW* Punching Marketers in the Face

Permission marketing, is where its at. Where whats at you may be wondering. Consumers attention, buyers attention or just plain anyone’s attention. Seth Godin put it far better than I in a far longer format in his book Permission Marketing (catchy no?) but the gist is the same. People won’t listen anymore to the 3 million dollar 15 second half time ads about drinking Coke. Instead today marketers have to be approached by the consumer and be given the badge of approval before any Cokes will be bought, links will be clicked or email sign ups will be given. Its a whole new marketing world and the sooner small businesses smarten up to it the better.

Screw big business, what have they ever done for us? They give us Walmart, McGreedys and Enron… its all about us small guys, who fly under the radar. We are the new face of business and marketing and we need to turn away from the failing ways of big business before its too late. Instead court your customers, woo your customers, become someone they seek out instead of vice versa. Create demand for your products where there is none, this in itself will create demand… Give value without asking for anything in return, this will garnish love and respect from potential customers. Or if nothing else look at this and see for yourself… if this crudely drawn cartoon doesn’t make your marketing strategy do a complete 180 I give up.
