I like the idea of an MP3 player, but my Iphone goes a step further. Video seems to be all the rage nowadays( audio too) and as much as i hate it, its here to stay.
I personally prefer PDFs and written material because i love scanning something to see if its of any value.

The videos from DVDs I bought online i simply convery and download them into my Iphone so i can watch them while commuting (and not in front of my PC, alone)

Thanks Wilson, I have started toying with the idea of putting an “Action Item” or “Action List” at the bottom of each post that will be very actionable things that you can do now to get going towards escaping the 9 to 5 or building your business, thoughts?

Keep them in a drawer, like your sock drawer or something.. I have literally an entire desk drawer devoted to all my moleskins… sometimes I spend hours going through old ideas and find something great that I finally have the resources to pursue now.

Anyone that loves Moleskines gets an automatic follow! I use them religiously as well. I use them to write down new article ideas, things I want to accomplish, ideas that just pop up, and even the darn grocery list! I usually only pay the cahier ruled soft covers. Those fit in my jacket pocket really well.

Hi Maren,
Great post. Sometimes, I find that entrepreneurs struggle with their 'why' and if they don't have that figured out they can struggle if times get tough. A great question that I often ask many of my clients when they are struggling for motivation is: "If time and money were no problem, would you do what you are doing?" or "If time and money were no object, what would you do?"

Usually, produces some interesting answers and a lot of direction and new plans.

excellent tools list. I like the way you use your moleskins – love using mine for idea capture, hadn't thought of using them for a to-do list

Based on other recommendations I am experimenting with Evernote and thinking about todoodlist (any experience with either of those?)

Awesome post. Use just about everyone of them except 1 and 5. Though will probably adapt Mint.com soon and BaseCampHQ if I fall behind on not being able to do everything myself.

I hear you on that. Spending 4 and 1/2 years on highly expensive and corrupt "higher education" could've been spent into informal education. The numerous books I have read in just the past month have meant so much more than two different universities and years of formal education. However, not to take away to much from higher education, it does have some perks.
