My name is Maren Kate and I’m an entrepreneur, social media junkie and avid writer. I have been starting businesses since I was a teenager and got into the online world when I launched my first site PowersellerPrincess.com, dedicated to helping people become eBay power sellers and make money online.

After that I started getting very interested in the world of social media and online marketing. Ever since its been a blur of social networking, wordpress, viral marketing and reading anything and everything on entrepreneurship.

I have dedicated this blog to people who want to escape the 9 to 5 like I did. But Escapingthe9to5.com isn’t for everyone, so don’t be offended if it isn’t for you. Here are some common characteristics of people who may get a lot out of the documenting of my journey in escaping the 9 to 5 and becoming independently wealthy via entrepreneurship.

5. If you like your job but know that the only way you can truly reach your goals is by making a lot more money and having the freedom being your own boss with allot you.
6. If your idea of pleasure reading is Fast Company, Forbes or Entrepreneur magazine.
7. If you love blogging and want to develop a business out of it.
8. If you are insanely passionate about a specific thing (be it knitting, hockey or German shepards)
9. If you want to make money doing what you love.

I love helping people do what they love. My greatest passion is starting up businesses and watching them thrive. I also do creative consulting for businesses to help them build their brand online, via social media marketing and website design through my main business Oracle Launch.
